The problem

The products sell into three separate worlds: boat owners, industrial plants and solar plant operators. The same product is searched for as “bilge wash” by one and “heavy grease remover” by another. Squeezing them into a single category tree left all three buyers unable to find what they were after. With chemicals, the field of use and the dosage are part of the buying decision too, so a product page had to be more than a catalog card.

The solution

The category structure was built around field of use, and a product can appear under more than one of them. On the product page the technical details and the field of use sit next to the price. Featured items, new arrivals and discounts are separate strips, and campaigns are run from the panel. The basket, shipping and payment flow were brought together on one page.
